Getting there

From Grants Pass, Oregon, take Highway 199 (Redwood Highway) to Riverbanks Road just across the Applegate River. Turn right onto Riverbanks Road and follow it to Forest Road 2706 (Shan Creek Road). Follow Forest Road 2706 for about 1.2 miles to the beginning of the trail. Shan Creek can also be accessed by following Forest Road 2706 for about 7 miles until you come to Forest Road 2509. Turn north on Forest Road 2509 and travel about a 0.5 mile to Forest Road 2509-056. Turn on Forest Road 2509-056 and follow it for about 4.3 miles to the west end of the Shan Creek Trail.
