About this campground

Winding through the mountains high above the river canyon, the Grave Creek-Marial Back Country Byway is a scenic back country route that starts and ends along the Rogue National Wild and Scenic River. This route provides visitor access to one of the most scenic and remote sections of the wild river canyon that is popular with hikers, boaters, and nature enthusiasts who come to appreciate the river and the multiple use lands administered by the BLM that surround the area. Highlights of this Back Country Byway include the historic Rogue River Ranch, Rainie Falls Overlook, and access to the 38-mile Rogue River National Recreation Trail.

Getting there

From Grants Pass, Oregon, take Interstate 5 north to Exit 61 (Merlin). Turn left onto Merlin-Galice Road and continue west for about 22 miles until you reach the Grave Creek bridge over the Rogue River. Bearing left after the bridge, the Byway continues over paved and gravel roads for 33 miles until it reaches the historic Marial townsite and the Rogue River Ranch National Historic site.
