About this campground

Located near the Summit Rest Area/Visitors Center/Lincoln Monument. Access to the Tie City and Happy Jack trail systems via the Headquarters and Crow Creek Loop Trails. Open seasonally weather permitting but you can park at the gate and hike in in the winter. Trails are very wet and muddy in the springtime. One vault toilet some picnic table available. No potable water.  Located in the Pole Mountain area and managed by the Laramie Ranger District.

Getting there

From Laramie, take Interstate 80 east 9.5 miles to WY 210 (Exit 323). Turn onto Exit 323 and go left at the stop sign. Keep on that road past the visitors center about a mile. The paved road turns into Forest Road 705 (gravel). The trailhead parking area is located on the left hand side of the road.
