About this campground
Ideal for children, families and beginners the lower level wide groomed route that follows Huckleberry Creek. You will pass through old growth forest and open areas offering a variety of vistas as you follow the Huckleberry Creek drainage. After the first mile you will be close enough to see the creek and further along get frequent views of the hillsides and cliffs. Many short spur roads lead down to the creek. Your route ends as when the road crosses Huckleberry Creek. The ungroomed road continues but rapidly gains elevation, making it better suited for intermediate skiers. The upper route is strenous and more difficult, following Forest Service road 7315 six miles up to Suntop Lookout. Forest Service road 73 is closed annually to motorized use from Nov. 26 to May 11.
Getting there
Drive east on State Highway 410 for 24.8 miles to Huckleberry Creek Road (Forest Service road 73). Turn right (southwest) and follow Forest Service road 73 for 1.4 miles to the junction with Forest Service road 7315 and the Suntop Sno-Park.
