About this campground
Caywood Point is the only part of the Finger Lakes National Forest bordering Seneca Lake. Fossenvue Trail is a gravel path descends through forest to an open area beside the lake with a gravel beach and panoramic views. Please be aware that the last portion of the trail can be quite steep.
Getting there
From the South: Take State Route 14 North (Exit 52 off State Route 17/I-86 in Horseheads) to Watkins Glen, NY. In Watkins Glen, turn right at the Fourth Street intersection onto State Route 414 North. Go approximately 15 miles north. A roadside sign indicates the road which descends to the trailhead parking area, on the left across from Shalestone Vineyards. From the North: Take State Route 414 (exit 41 off I-90, with a stretch of US Highway 20 between Waterloo and Seneca Falls) south through Lodi, NY. The road to the trailhead is on the right.
