About this campground
The International Museum of Art and Science's mission is to promote an understanding and appreciation for the arts and sciences through exhibitions, cultural events, and educational programs. The museum is in the process of expanding and is the only art and science museum between Corpus Christi, Texas and Monterey, Mexico.International Museum of Art and Science is home to one of the nation's largest Latin American folk art collections and the only exhibiting facility within a 150-mile radius to house significant geological and paleontological collections relevant to the region.Recently, the Museum has unveiled RioScape: A Discovery Park, a unique interactive educational resource encouraging exploration, curiosity and learning through play. It incorporates play in a unique learning environment that reflects scientific and environmental concepts specific to the Rio Grande River. Through interactive play, the park encourages curiosity and learning and demonstrates concepts difficult to teach to children. RioScape has its own Rio Grande River, so children can learn about scientific principles including water pollution, erosion, pumping, hydropower to generate electricity and much more. RioScape: A Discovery Park covers 10,000 square feet on the grounds of the McAllen International Museum, offering a science-learning environment like no other in the United States.
