About this campground

The Birthplace of Country Music Alliance's mission is to bring national and international attention to the people of the Southern Appalachian region, the musical and cultural heritage of the region, its role in the development of country music, and its influence on music around the world. The BCMA carries out its mission primarily through three main avenues: the preservation and promotion of our region's musical heritage, educational programs, and promotion and support of live music. The BCMA also preserves the region's musical heritage through the operation of its museum, which contains exhibits on this history of traditional Southern Appalachian music, and by conducting oral histories of artists and performers from the region. The BCMA also sponsors a number of educational programs for students and the public at large, as well as the professional education of musicians by sponsoring a scholarship in East Tennessee University's Country Music and Bluegrass Program. Finally, the BCMA provides a visible opportunity for community pride in the musical heritage of the region by bringing live music to the people through a variety of concerts and musical events.
