About this campground

This trail provides access from the Table Mountain Trail #217 to the Pine Creek Trail #201 within Strawberry Mountain Wilderness.  This trail is a connector set in the timber in the wilderness. The trail surface is compacted dirt, with a 500 foot elevation gain.

Getting there

From the town of John Day, OR., travel south on US Highway 395 approximately 8 miles to the junction with County Road 65. Follow County Road 65 for approximately 6 miles to the junction with Forest Road 651. Turn left onto Forest Road 651 and proceed approximately 3 miles to the trailhead. Take the Table Mountain Trail #217 to the intersection with Table Mountain A Trail #5000.
