Spalding Pond is a 3 acre freshwater pond that fills the basin of a historic, 19th century timber mill site. The campground is mostly shaded by mature mixed conifers and because of it's higher elevation, the pond's microclimate stays significantly cooler than the surrounding, hot Southern Oregon valleys in peak summer. Nearby Attractions Spalding Pond Campground is located in the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest, just outside of Selma, Oregon. It is an ideal basecamp for exploring unique Southern Oregon botanical areas, scenic lakes, and subterranean monuments.
