About this campground
South Fork-Alsea River Back County Byway provides access to several camping, hiking, and biking destinations; timber resources; and sightseeing destinations for tourists throughout the central Oregon Coast Range. For much of its western alignment, South Fork Road parallels the South Fork Alsea River. The Alsea Falls Recreation Site and Fall Creek Bike Trail Network offer visitors a wide range of recreational activities. South Fork-Alsea River Back County Byway provides access to the Alsea Falls Recreation Site and offers access to trailheads, designated campgrounds, and many creeks and drainages popular for fishing and hunting activities.
Getting there
From Corvallis: Take Hwy 99W south about 15 miles. Turn right on Alpine Road, follow for approximately 6.5 miles. Alpine Road turns into South Fork-Alsea River Back Country Byway. From Alsea: Travel south from the town Alsea on Alsea-Deadwood Hwy for about 1 mile. Turn left on the South Fork Road and follow for approximately 3 miles (stay on main paved road).
