About this campground
The Point Iroquois Lighthouse was constructed in 1870. It is open to the public and houses a museum and gift shop. The sidewalks and boardwalks offer everyone a first hand accessible opportunity to enjoy Lake Sueprior's shoreline. The boardwalk skirst along the beach and through a small section of woods; together with the sidewalk a 0.2 mile loop is provided. Several rest stops with benches are located along the boardwalk where you can stop and enjoy the Lake Superior waves and passing freighers.
Getting there
From the intersection of M-28 and I-75 drive 7.5 miles west on M-28 to M-221/Brimley. Turn right (north) and drive 2.5 miles on M-221 to Lakeshore Drive (Forest Highway 42). Turn left (west) on Lake Shore Drive and drive 6.5 miles to the lighthouse.
