About this campground
The Porter Cutoff Trail #535 is a cutoff route from the Willow Creek Road, FSR #263, to the Porter Mountain Trail #534. The trail travels on a bench above Buzzard Creek, and then veers to the northwest where it climbs up a large, open drainage until it reaches the intersection with the Porter Mountain Trail #534. The trail is easy to ride on an ATV except for some of the upper sections which are steep and could be difficult to ride if wet. Geo-Ref Trail Map Geo-Reference Instructions
Getting there
UPPER ACCESS: Travel from its lower trailhead off of the Willow Creek Road #263. The upper trailhead also can be accessed by traveling south on the Porter Mountain Trail #534 from its lower (northern) trailhead off of the Buzzard Divide Road, FSR #265. LOWER ACCESS: Travel east from Collbran for 6.4 miles on Highway 330 to the junction with County Road 64. Take the left fork at this junction and continue on Highway 330 for 7.4 miles to the junction with Buzzard Divide Road FSR #265. Turn right onto Buzzard Divide Road and travel for 9.9 miles south to its intersection with Willow Creek Road, FSR #263. At this intersection, turn right (southwest) onto the Willow Creek Road and travel approximately 0.1 miles, crossing Buzzard Creek, to the Porter Cutoff Lower Trailhead.
