About this campground
The North Calf Creek Trail #460 travels through the Powderhorn Wilderness which is shared by the USDA Forest Service and the BLM. The trail begins at the National Forest boundary after following the BLM trail #3010 from the Powderhorn Park Trailhead. It ends at the National Forest boundary as it crosses onto BLM and continues as trail #3027. It travels along a ridge above Calf Creek. By following the BLM trail #3027 you can access Devil's Lake where fishing can be good for Cutthroat and Brook Trout. Trail Map
Getting there
Powderhorn Park Trailhead: From Gunnison, travel west on Highway 50 to Highway 149. Travel south on Highway 149 for approximately 17 miles to the intersection with County Road 27. Continue on CO 27 for approximately 19 miles to the Powderhorn Park Trailhead. Follow the BLM's Powderhorn Park Trail #3010 for approximately 2 miles to the forest boundary where the trail becomes the Forest Service North Calf Creek Trail #460. Follow this trail for approximately half a mile to its intersection with the Powderhorn Park Trail #462.
