About this campground
The Doubletop Waterfall Spur Trail #405.3A begins at an intersection with the Doubletop Walrod Spur Trail #405.2A and the Waterfall Cutoff Trail #638 and ends at an intersection with the Doubletop Trail #405. You will see beautiful wildflowers during the summer months as you ascend this connection trail. A loop of about 4 miles can be accomplished by combinding this trail with the Doubletop Trail #405, the Doubletop Walrod Spur Trail #405.2A. Geo-Ref Trail Map Geo-Reference Instructions
Getting there
From Crested Butte: Travel south on Hwy 135 for approximately 7.5 miles to County Road 740, Cement Creek Road. This road becomes Forest Service Road 740 at the National Forest boundary. Turn left on FSR 740 and continue for approximately 3 miles to FSR 740.2C, Walrod Road. Turn north on FSR 740.2C and continue for approximately 1.6 miles to the intersection with the Walrod Trail 412. Turn north and follow the Trail 412 for approximately 1 mile to an intersection with the Doubletop Walrod Spur Trail #405.2A. Turn east and follow the Doubletop Walrod Spur Trail for about 0.4 miles to the intersection with the Doubletop Waterfall Spur Trail and the Waterfall Cutoff Trail.
