About this campground

Hidden Splendor was the sight of a historic uranium mine. Remains of the mine can still be seen today. The sites offers access to Muddy Creek, dispersed camping, and a backcountry airstrip. This trailhead offers access to many canyoneering routes and the popular “The Chute” of Muddy Creek. This hike is 15 miles long and typically requires 8 to 10 hours from trailhead to trailhead. As in all desert canyon hikes always watch the forecast and be aware of potential of flash flooding.
