About this campground
Overview Yellow Pine Campground is the largest of three Wallowa-Whitman campgrounds along Highway 26, which is part of the Journey Through Time Scenic Byway. The campground offers 21 campsites for both tents and small trailers and has five accessible campsites. Popular activities include overnight camping for travelers, picnicking and exploring along the scenic byway. There is an accessible, barrier-free, trail to Wetmore Campground. Wildflowers, wildlife, birds and large old growth ponderosa ("yellow") pine can be seen during the hike. Primary Use Season is May to October Quiet hours are from 10pm to 6am Facilities Yellow Pine Campground has 21 campsites, each with a picnic table, fire ring and parking space.
Getting there
From Unity, Oregon head west on Highway 26 for 10.5 miles towards Prairie City and John Day, Oregon; The campground entrance is on the right side of the highway.
