About this campground
Overview Dougherty Campground is situated in an open pine forest and grassland near the northern boundary of the Hells Canyon National Recreation Area. The site offers 4 tent/trailer sites, and 8 tent-only sites. Primary activities include camping, picnicking, berry picking and hunting during the fall season. Use season is generally June through early October. Quiet hours are 10:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. Facilities Dougherty Campground has 12 campsites that offer picnic tables, fire rings and parking spaces.
Getting there
From Enterprise, Oregon travel north on Highway 3 for 14 miles to Forest Road 46; Turn right on Forest Road 46 and go about 13 miles to the Crow Creek Road; Turn left on Crow Creek Road and go about 1 mile; Turn right on the Chesnimus Creek Road (will become Forest Road 4625) go about 6.5 miles to Forest Road 4670; Turn left on Forest Service Road 4670 and go north 9.5 miles towards Billy Meadows; After Billy Meadows Guard Station look for Forest Road 46 and turn right on this road; Go about 1.8 miles on Forest Road 46; The campground entrance is located to the left off Forest Service 46 on the 583 road. Note: most of the roads are graveled.
